Football Kit unveilings are among the many things that the internet has ruined, with these unveilings - one of the few important events in June in non-tournament years - stripped of all mystery as new kits are frequently leaked online months in advance of the official unveiling.
Next season, Liverpool's kit manufacturers will be New Balance, who may be familiar to you as the company that produce quite nice trainers ruined by infuriatingly long laces. New Balance took over from Warrior this season, who made a name for themselves by producing Liverpool kits mad enough to make a 1990s Goalkeeping shirt look rather plain in comparison. Most notable was this from the 2013/14 season, with the bottom half of the shirt looking as if the manufacturers had used it to align a recently-installed ink cartridge:
New Balance have gone the other direction with their Liverpool kits, focussing on being plain and sensible, judging by both this season's efforts along with the home kit for next season appeared online, which you can view here.
The away kit has been leaked online today, and again it is all rather sensible:
Again, assembled with the minimum of fuss. It does, however, appear to be green. Liverpool have not had a fully green away kit since 1999, although Addidas did put an incredibly dodgy splash of green on the third kit of 06/07. Despite Addidas' attempts to do so, green has never sat well as a Liverpool colour.
What do we think Liverpool fans?
