Raheem Sterling scored the opener tonight as Liverpool beat Newcastle United 2-0 in Anfield.
But in the meantime a storm is brewing after the Sun released pictures of Sterling appearing to inhale nitrous oxide and then passing out.
After inhaling, Sterling turned to the camera and laughed before passing out. Nitrous Oxide is classified as a 'legal high'.
The Sun video shows Sterling inhaling the substance from a balloon.
Helpfully from the point of view of the viewer, his friends shout 'we've got balloons' (just in case you were in any doubt what they were) over and over before Sterling inhales. The camera lingers close to Sterling's face as he lies passed out.
Liverpool have said they are aware of the incident and they 'intend to speak to the player.'
