Liverpool are ready to beat Manchester United to the signing of Aston Villa's Christian Benteke and will trigger the strikers £32.5m buyout clause.
Brendan Rodgers was previously unwilling to meet the large fee but The Times report that he will use the funds generated from Raheem Sterling's £49m move to Manchester City to bring the Belgian to Anfield.
