While it was expected that Liverpool would undergo a sizeable rebuild this summer, the potential departure of a couple of key figures in the team's midfield was not anticipated.
Jordan Hederson has reportedly made it clear that he would like to move to Saudi Arabia, although the two clubs have yet to strike a deal when it comes to a fee. The deal to send Fabinho to the Middle East seems more straightforward, with a £40million bid submitted for the Brazilian.
It was was previously said that Liverpool would look to sign a third midfielder to go along with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominic Szoboszlai this summer, but the potential departure of their holding player has now accelerated that process.
While the club's supporters were not initially enthused about their list of potential targets, another potential replacement has now been identified.

The 21-year old is highly rated prospect, making his Brazilian debut earlier this year. He has been linked with numerous top European clubs over the last year or so, although it seems that Jurgen Klopp's side have now moved to the top of the queue of potential suitors.
It is clear that Liverpool will need to sign at least one more midfielder this summer, with the move into the South American market not something the club has been associated with in recent times. That is something their supporters have criticised them for at times.
Buying a high priced player directly from the continent would be a clear departure from their recent transfer policy, with the club having usually waited to see youngster tested in top European moves before making a move to sign them.
It is said that a fee of around £25million would be enough to secure Andre's signature, an asking price that the Premier League side would have no issue in matching. However, it remains to be seen if they will decide to go ahead with the deal.
