Ryan Kent has removed any mention of Liverpool from his social media account, as Jurgen Klopp ruled out a further loan move for the player.
The player removed any trace of his time at Liverpool from his Instagram page, including deleting any Liverpool related posts and unfollowing the club's account. This all came on the day he was left out of Jurgen Klopp's squad for the friendly against Napoli in Edinburgh.
The player spent last season on loan at Rangers, and the Scottish club had hoped to bring him back on another temporary spell. However, Klopp today put an end to any notions of another loan move.
The time is over, I think, for loans, because of his age.
The players need to find a place where they can settle. A loan is not an option.
The 22-year old has had five loan switches over the past few seasons, and Liverpool appear keen to bring in a transfer fee when the player departs this summer.
Rangers had made Kent a top target, having impressed during his time in Glasgow last season. Steven Gerrard confirmed that they were trying to get a deal over the line, but it seems unlikely they would be able to afford the player on a permanent basis.
The likes of Leeds United and Aston Villa have also been linked, and they would seem more likely to fork out a sizeable fee.
Either way, it certainly seems that Kent's future now lies away from Anfield.
