Liverpool have been handed a potential fitness boost ahead of the Champions League final, after midfielder Naby Keita was included in their Marbella training squad.
The Guinea international ruptured a tendon during the club's Champions League semi final first leg against Barcelona, and it had been feared he would be ruled out for up to two months. His recovery has progressed better than expected, however, and he has been deemed fit enough to travel to Spain with the rest of the squad.
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Keita will train away from the rest of the squad, as his fitness continues to be monitored. It is not yet clear if he will be recovered in time for the June 1st final, but the club's fitness staff will put him though his paces in Marbella.
The squad will spend the next six days on a warm weather training camp in Spain in preparation for the massive clash against Spurs. Jurgen Klopp's side will enter the final as favourites, but their meetings with the same opposition this season have both been tight battles.
Liverpool emerged victorious on a 2-1 scoreline on both occasions, but Spurs could have grabbed at least a point in either of those games.
The London club received a fitness boost of their own today, with the news that Harry Kane is set to be fit for the final. The striker has been out of action since April 9th, but is confident of being fit for the biggest game in the club's history.
The full 26-man Liverpool training squad includes a number of youngsters, with no glaring omissions.
