Celtic are set to have a big few months ahead.

Not only will they continue the defence of their Scottish title, but the club will also take part in the Champions League group stages for the first time since for the first time since 2014. Their supporters were fairly pleased with the draw they received yesterday.

After dipping somewhat during Neil Lennon's second spell in charge, Celtic now seem to be very much back on track. Ange Postecoglou has played a huge part in that, overhauling the team's playing style and making some astute signings in the transfer market.

Matt O'Riley is a prime example. The midfielder arrived from MK Dons back in January for a fee of £1.5million, but has already proved to be a massive hit at Parkhead.

Only 21-years old, the English-born Danish midfielder has made quite the impact. In fact, his form is already drawing attention from elsewhere.

Matt O'Riley linked with big money move

ESPN are reporting that Matt O'Riley is of interest to a number of major European clubs, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Borussia Dortmund all keeping an eye on his progress. Premier League sides Leicester City and Newcastle United are also said to be interested.

A move could be made as soon as the current transfer window, although Celtic are certainly in no rush to sell. However, it is suggested that a fee of £15-20million could be enough to test their resolve.

While they would like to hang onto the play, this would represent a remarkable return on Celtic's investment. Selling a players for over ten times their original transfer fee just over six months after their signing would be an incredible piece of business.

The club may well opt to resist any advances this late in the window, especially as they attempt to navigate their Champions League campaign. A deal could then be revisited in January if their European exploits do not go as planned.

Regardless of what Celtic do decide to sell Matt O'Riley, it is clear that they will make a massive profit on the fairly meagre fee they handed out to acquire him.
