Ahead of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool will be well-aware that they will need to be at their very best to overcome Pep Guardiola's Premier League champions-elect.
It has become apparent that the club's fans are more than willing to do their part for the cause also. Famed for it's atmosphere on such big European nights, Liverpool's fans are planning to assure City's players what they are getting into before they arrive at Anfield however.
Promising to show Manchester City's players "what money can't buy," one group of Liverpool fans is planning to give the City coach an intimidating guard of honour toward the club.
With "banners and bangers ... pints and pyro," the fans intend to "scare em back to Mancland with their tails between their legs before the match even starts."
As was quickly pointed out by the Manchester Evening News however,
It is illegal to let off a firework, flare or smoke bomb in a public place.
It an offence to 'attempt to enter' grounds with smoke bombs and flares – and the Football Supporters Federation has warned in the past that being in possession of a pyrotechnic device in the vicinity of the ground, and having a match ticket, has brought arrests.
Naturally enough, 'We Are Liverpool' were forced into a quick clarification of exactly what kind of welcome they were trying to organise.
Perhaps not quite as fearsome as it had first appeared, if the pre-match event does go ahead, it could well prove an impressive sight; if not necessarily a deterrent that halts City's desire to participate in the tie.
Not something that is a completely new element of European nights in the city, this welcome was extended to Villarreal.
