Liverpool did not know that Luis Suarez was going to issue an apology today, according to Sam Wallace of the London Independent.

Wallace says the apology is aimed at opening the way for Suarez’s move to Barcelona.
And Gary Lineker (a former Barcelona player) has made comments on Twitter which will further fan the flames of speculation.
