Liverpool paid tribute to the spirit of the Aintree Grand National by wobbling, stumbling and falling at Anfield on Wednesday night. They contrived to chuck away two points at home to Bournemouth, conceding a late equaliser to Joshua King to puncture the brief euphoria of victory over Everton.
To give an idea as to how little Bournemouth had of the game, they scored with their only shots on goal. It continues a remarkable statistic:
Games where Liverpool's keeper had a 0% save percentage: Burnley (a), Hull (h), WBA (h), Swansea (h), Burnley (h), Bournemouth (h).

In those games, Liverpool have conceded ten goals. The latest came on Wednesday night. Liverpool led 2-1 before Phillippe Coutinho was forced off through illness, meaning Roberto Firmino was the only of Liverpool's regular front three fit to finish the game. If Liverpool fans had hoped that their injury travail were coming to an end, they were badly mistaken...
Liverpool Injury Update
Liverpool's lack of depth has been badly exposed of late, with Sadio Mané the greatest miss: they have won just one of the ten games they have played without him this season.
This afternoon, ahead of the visit to Stoke City on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp delivered a Liverpool injury update that makes exceptionally grim reading for Reds fans.
Klopp confirmed that Sadio Mané will miss the rest of the season with the knee injury sustained against Everton, and that is just where their injury problems begin. Coutinho has yet to return to training from the vomiting bug which forced him off against Bournemouth, meaning he is a doubt for the trip to the Britannia.
If he does miss out, he will join captain Jordan Henderson and influential midfielder Adam Lallana in the treatment room, neither of whom have returned to training following respective foot and thigh injuries.
Daniel Sturridge might come back into line for the Stoke game, although he was an unused substitute on Wednesday night, with Klopp judging him as not being fit enough to replace Coutinho on the hour mark.
