Liverpool continue to make big moves in the transfer market, in response to their poorest season of the Jurgen Klopp era.
Klopp's side have been one of Europe's best since 2017, but struggled in the 2022-23 campaign, failing to secure Champions League qualification after finishing fifth in the Premier League.
The base of the squad is undoubtedly one of the best in Europe, but there were glaring issues for Liverpool last season, and Klopp has not hung about in addressing those issues.

One of those areas was in midfield, and Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have already arrived for big money.
There have been links with countless others, such as Khephren Thuram, Romeo Lavia, and James Ward-Prowse.
The latest rumour, however, is sure to excite Liverpool fans, as they have been linked with Real Madrid's Champions League winning star Federico Valverde.

Liverpool interested in signing Federico Valverde
The Guardian reported on Wednesday that Jurgen Klopp is keen on the signing of Federico Valverde, sharing the reported fee of £77 million from the Spanish press.
Valverde's versatility would suit Klopp's playing style well, with the 24-year-old having been deployed in multiple positions for Real Madrid over the years. Though he normally plays in central midfield, he has also regularly played on the right wing - including in the 2022 Champions League final against Liverpool.
A potential move to Liverpool would see him link up with fellow Uruguayan Darwin Nunez, and he would be an exciting attacking addition to the side.
Last season was his most prolific with Real Madrid, despite his move into a midfield role after the departure of Casemiro last summer. He registered 12 goals in 56 appearances for Madrid, as they reached the Champions League semi-finals.
With a plethora of midfielders having left Liverpool in recent years, and Thiago's future up in the air, the signing of Federico Valverde would be a hugely exciting one for the club, as they seek a return to the Premier League title battle next season.
