Liverpool Fans Roasted Chelsea's Twitter Account After Its Farcical Take On That Fabregas Tackle

Earlier today Cesc Fabregas did the impossible, and received his marching orders in a friendly.

The 29-year-old Chelsea midfielder scythed down new Liverpool signing Ragnar Klavan during his side's 1-0 victory in Pasadena, receiving a straight red card for what essentially amounted to a reasonably uncharacteristic horror-challenge.

Chelsea's Twitter account is a source of wonder for many football fans, occasionally 'seeing games differently' to their counterparts, fans, and generally just anybody watching a Chelsea match.

Today was no different, as they laughably suggested their Spanish international midfielder had been harshly treated by the referee.

It goes without saying that the tweet, and those responsible, were taken to task by Liverpool Twitter, who lambasted the admittedly embarrassing account of events.

Fabregas dropped by the Liverpool dressing room after the game to apologise for the challenge. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said:

It’s a red card. He (Fabregas) came by us in the dressing room and said sorry.

Antonio Conte also apologised for the nature of the challenge in a friendly match.
