Whereas their manager sent Seamus Coleman good wishes ahead of the game, a minority of Liverpool fans plumbed depths of profound eejitry by singing a song mocking Coleman's broken leg.
The Irish captain is expected to be out of the game for at least nine months, and potentially a year, following the injury sustained as a result of Neil Taylor's horror challenge last Friday week, and was sorely missed by Everton as they sunk to a 3-1 defeat at Anfield following a largely abysmal performance.
After the game, group of Liverpool fans were revelling in their Merseyside dominance before things took a turn for the lousy, as a group broke into a song mocking Coleman's injury.
