According to reports, Liverpool star Raheem Sterling has decided to put his contract talks on hold with the club until the end of the season in a move that will do little to dispel rumors that the attacker is considering life beyond Anfield.
The issue of Sterling's contract is one that has cropped up continually this season with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers claiming the club offered Sterling "an incredible deal" back in February but with initial talks believed to have started way back in October, Sterling still seems no closer to putting pen to paper.
The Daily Mail predictably link the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid with Sterling today and make the point that with his contract expiring in 2017, time is running out for Liverpool to strike a deal.
More likely of course, this is all grandstanding by Sterling and his representatives and they will eventually blink as Liverpool pile on the naughts on the contract.
All in the game.
