#RodgersOut, #FSGOut, it must mean Liverpool have missed out on a transfer target. As you may have seen, that's exactly what it means. Dutch attacker Memphis Depay has decided to join up with Louis Van Gaal at Man United despite the fact that many Liverpool fans had been teased with reports that the 21 year old was edging towards Anfield.
It seems Depay did in fact meet Brendan Rodgers and terms were discussed but that's not to say he was halfway to becoming a Liverpool player. He more than likely weighed up his options and decided that (probably) playing Champions League football under a manger he knows is the better option.
From a logical point of view it's hard to argue against that. However, some are trying and the fact that it did seem like Liverpool had a decent chance of securing the deal isn't being well received by Liverpool fans.
As tends to happen at times like this, particularly when Liverpool are involved, the manger and the owners took quite a lot of the blame.
Willian, Sanchez, Konoplyanka, Diego Costa, Depay, Salah, Shaqiri and now Depay. I can handle two or three, but our club is a joke now.

One meeting with Rodgers was all it took for Depay to decide against us, I bet.

We've been monitoring Depay for the past 18 months & Rodgers even went to personally meet him. Just shows he can't attract top players. #LFC

We missed out on Depay :) Probably gonna sign Danny Ings and George Boyd for 35mill :/ Fix up Rodgers man.

Who is actually surprised though? Brendan Rodgers vs Louis Van Gaal. It's obvious who Depay would choose. #LFC

"I thought Ian Ayre showed great character during talks with young Depay. He was absolutely outstanding," said Rodgers, unveiling Danny Ings

Get used to it Liverpool fans and non-fans alike, there's a summer of this in waiting.
