In the build up to tonight's Champions League semi final between Liverpool & Roma at Anfield there had been concerns of a repeat of the quarter final where Manchester City's bus was attacked with projectiles as fans tried to intimidate the away team.
A repeat of the bus incident has not occurred but there has been violent scenes with Sunday Times football correspondant Jonathon Northcroft tweeting that 20 Roma fans have attacked Liverpool supporters with belts:

The Roma group came out of Venmore St, and attack was sudden. Picked an older Liverpool fan and atracked him. A lot of police around but they were slow on the scene. Poor guy is still down. Horrible stuff.
