A number of Liverpool fans have reportedly suffered injuries after a restaurant they were dining in was stormed and attacked by upwards of 20 hooligans.
Ukrainian police confirmed that two foreigners were injured in the city centre, as a group of Liverpool fans were eating in a restaurant ahead of Saturday's Champions League final: "In the course of the conflict, two foreigners suffered injuries." In a video published by The Mirror, masked hooligans attacked the scene, throwing tables and chairs at the football fans.
Jason Frost, 50, from Nuneaton, told The Mirror the attack happened hours after he arrived in the city.
We were having dinner, completely minding our own business. I didn’t come here for this. I came to watch the football. We’ve been here for four hours and then we’re getting attacked. They came at us like a pack of dogs. It just kept coming. It was terrifying.
Merseyside Police have confirmed they are aware of the incident and that they do have officers in Kiev.
The city is expected to host thousands of Liverpool fans this week, with the club allocated 16,000 tickets for Saturday's tie against Real Madrid.
