We're not quite sure how Brendan Rodgers is going to fit in all his expensive attacking options but another one is going to be available very soon. There had been worries that Daniel Sturridge would miss the first few months of the new season following a hip operation in May. However, it now looks like that won't be the case.
Sturridge is expected back at Melwood this week and there are suggestions that, provided his rehabilitation continues in the manner it has been, he'll return to first team action within a month.
The specific date that is being suggested is September 12th, which as many will know, just so happens to be the first meeting of Liverpool and Man United this season.
With Sturridge's recent injury record, Liverpool fans may be somewhat reserved about their expectations for the England striker's return but if he was to be fit for that game at Old Trafford he would certainly be a valuable option from the bench at the very least.
