Some sad news has emerged from the Liverpool camp today, as one of the club's brightest young players has been ruled out for the season due to an injury picked up on International duty.
When Joe Gomez signed for Liverpool in the summer, many were surprised that Brendan Rodgers had taken a relatively unknown teenager from Charlton to Anfield, but it soon became clear as to why when Gomez impressed in a run of games at the start of the Premier League season.
This good form saw Gomez called up to the England U21s, where he was unfortunately injured during Tuesday's win over Kazakhstan, but the extend of the injury had not been disclosed until this evening:
Terrible news for Joe Gomez, ACL injury set to rule him out for rest of season. Had initially thought it would not be serious. #LFC

That's a blow for Liverpool as Gomez was showing signs that he could be an important player for Liverpool, and while that is obviously still the case, missing the remainder of the season is not ideal at this stage of his development.
A Joe Gomez injury is not something new boss Jurgen Klopp would have wanted, but this could mean that Jose Enrique is called back from his loan to Instagram to provide competition for Alberto Moreno, but as of yet it remains unclear if we will see the Spaniard on the Anfield bench anytime soon.
