Rumours are flying about the internet today claiming that Liverpool have tabled an official offer for Mario Balotelli.
The story that first emerged in the Italian press this morning has been picked up by the Daily Star and Football Italia.
Having lost Luis Suarez to Barca, Liverpool have brought in Rickie Lambert and Divock Origi, but with the former expected to play supporting role and the latter already loaned back to Lille, it seems that the Reds may be back in the hunt for a striker with a bit of star power, despite Daniel Sturridge starting the season with a game-winning goal.
The fee is believed to be in the region of €22m, and it will be interesting to see if this is materialises in the next few days, or becomes one of the many reported transfer deals to never come to fruition. Either way, it's surely time for Super Mario to bring his antics back to the Premier League.
