With Arne Slot set to officially begin his reign as Liverpool manager next month, you can be certain that he has already held discussions with the club about possible transfer targets this summer.
The squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp is not in need of a major overhaul, possessing a number of promising young players as well as more established stars. In saying that, it does need addressing in one or two areas.
A centre back and holding midfielder are likely to be high on Liverpool's list of priorities during the summer transfer window. As well as that, Slot will no doubt want to bring in a couple of players in order to better implement his style of play.
One such potential target has now emerged.

Liverpool reportedly considering move for Premier League star
The Sun are reporting that Arne Slot is keen to sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins for Liverpool this summer.
Watkins is coming off the back of the finest season of his career, scoring 27 goals and registering 13 assists in all competitions. An impressive 33 of those goal contributions would come in the Premier League, helping Villa to a Champions League spot.
It has been suggested that a fee of in excess of £90million could be required to prise him from Villa Park this summer, quite a chunk of change for a player who will turn 29-years old later this year. It is thought that his current club will attempt to rebuff any offers.
Of course, such a move would also likely spell the end of Darwin Nunez's time at Liverpool.
The Uruguayan looked promising at times this season, and while he did register 18 goals and 13 assists in all competitions, his dip in form towards the end of the campaign has led to doubts about his future at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp's exit could also be a factor, with the German said to have been the main driver behind the deal to sign the striker from Benfica in 2022.
Despite this, it has been reported that the club have said that getting the best out of Darwin Nunez will be one of the main asks of Arne Slot next season.
Considering that, and the price tag associated with a move for Watkins, a deal with Aston Villa seems very unlikely.
