Over one billion big ones have been spent by Premier League clubs over the course of this summer transfer window, and whether that makes you physically ill or giddy with excitement, the madness draws to a close at 11 o'clock tonight.

What will become of Arsenal's Jack Wilshere, as the wee man decides between Bournemouth and Crystal Palace? Will Chelsea finally land the marquee signing of...Marcus Alonso? Or will David Luiz cause the universe to implode with a return to the Bridge?

Are United finished? In the mind of Eamon Dunphy, sure, but what about in the transfer market? Monaco right-back Fabinho has long been linked with a move to Manchester and has netted four times in his past four games.

Stick with us as we keep an eye on the nervous trigger fingers signing off on panic buys throughout the day!

11.00

The transfer window is now closed! But wait, there's more! There is still a two-hour window for deals to take place, so long as the Premier League has received official documentation from both clubs and the player in question to confirm that a transfer agreement has been reached. This one ain't over yet, folks...

10.57

He's back! David Luiz has signed for Chelsea (again) and the Premier League has just become a slightly more fun place. We wonder how Antonio Conte will like his gut-busting runs forward from central defence though...

10.47

Finally some good news for Everton fans! Enner Valencia has joined up on a season long loan from West Ham. Just over ten minutes remaining...

10.32

EVEN MORE DRAMA! Everton have withdrawn their offer for Moussa Sissoko, who now looks set to join Spurs. Oh, to be an Everton fan on transfer deadline day...

10.20

DRAMA! Spurs have reportedly matched Everton's bid for Moussa Sissoko. Decision time for the Frenchman and the clock is a-ticking.

10.00

One hour remains! Plenty of time for some last minute deals...

9.53

On the back of a few decent performances in the Euros, Hal Robson-Kanu looks to have agreed a free transfer to West Brom. Despite scoring just 13 goals in the last three seasons in the Championship. But we assume Tony Pulis knows what he is doing here.

9.34

Aiden McGeady's less-than-brilliant Everton career is over, temporarily at least, after the winger agreed terms on a season long loan to Preston North End. We hope that they like stepovers in Preston, because they're going to see a LOT of them next  season.

9.15

Premier League champions Leicester City (it still feels strange to type that tbh) have completed the club record signing of Islam Slimani from Sporting Lisbon for fee somewhere in the region of £30 million. Some decent business by Claudio Ranieri there.

9.08

West Ham have added some top quality experience to their rearguard after completing a deal to sign former Real Madrid man (and two-time Champions League winner) Alvaro Arbeloa. The former Liverpool man will be 34 in January but still has a few solid shifts in him.

8.57

Okay Jamie Carragher, why don't you tell us how you really feel?

8.15

Everton look to have pipped Spurs to the signing of Moussa Sissoko after reportedly agreeing a fee of £30 million with Newcastle for the French midfielder's services. £60 million in total for Bolassie and Sissoko though? Hmm.

8.08

Jack Wilshere has actually signed for Bournemouth on loan. This is definitely one of the stranger transfer deadline day moves in recent memory.

7.53

The dream is over, Liverpool fans. Mario Balotelli has left Anfield on a permanent deal and joined Nice. The price? Zip, zilch, nada.

7.46

Eunan O'Kane has, despite being on the bench for Ireland's match against Oman this evening, has agreed a two-year deal to join Leeds United. Now, that's some good multi-tasking.

7.35

Spurs have bolstered their goalkeeping ranks with the loan-signing of Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez. The football world collectively responds, 'Who?!'

7.23

One of the good things about the transfer window closing tonight is that we won't have to put up with some of the more ridiculous rumours until next January. The latest deal that definitely probably won't happen is Daniel Sturridge heading to Arsenal on a season-long loan. Nope.

7.20

Sorry to disappoint Sunderland fans, but your club's move for Everton's Steven Naismith is OFF. We understand David Moyes is looking for three more reinforcents. Robbie Brady, anyone?

6.59

Chelsea's social media person is really earning their money today. The latest outgoing from Stamford Bridge sees Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado depart for Juventus on a THREE YEAR loan deal. You don't want to just buy him outright lads, no?

6.57

So far this summer, thirteen Premier League teams have broken their own transfer records. What are the odds on a couple more big deals by the time the window slams shut tonight?

6.32

His name is a bit of a tongue-twister, but Spurs fans will have to get used to saying the name Georges-Kevin Nkoudo next season after the 21-year-old winger joins today from Marseille. The equally difficult to pronounce Clinton N'Jie will move to the Stade Velodrame on loan from London to replace him.

6.24

Jack Wilshere is undergoing a medical in Bournemouth after they somehow beat the likes of AC Milan, Roma and Crystal Palace to sign the England midfielder on loan. If you told us during the Euros that Wilshere would be lining up for Bournemouth next season, eh, we might have actually believed you...

5.55

It's really happening. David Luiz is in London.

5.39

Another Irish midfielder potentially on the move! James McCarthy could well be on his way from Everton today with Sunderland, Crystal Palace and West Brom said to be the contenders according to Sky Sports News.

5.21

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are currently duelling to see who gets dibs on Jack Wilshere. It's looking like Eddie Howe is in pole position but - hey - it's transfer deadline day, anything can happen.

5.10

Tony Pulis will not be a happy man. Despite it looking as if Newcastle's Moussa Sissoko was winging his way to the Hawthorns, it looks as though West Brom are going to be gazzumped by Everton for the Frenchman's signature.

5.04

There will be some new(ish) faces in the Chelsea side this season as last minute deals for Marcos Alonso and David Luiz look to be wrapped up but Chelsea won't be balancing the books with the sale of Cesc Fabregas who will be staying at Stamford Bridge despite interest from AC Milan.

4.58

Despite the disappointing news that the helicopter is not David Luiz, it seems that he will complete a medical today anyway. Why are clubs buying back old players all of a sudden. Illuminati? I'm going to say probably.

4.53

Chelsea have completed the signing of Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina. Here he is kicking the ball into the net in what is often described as a goal. Often, not always. Anyway it seems that Conte is getting the business done, potential defensive issues begone!

4.50

Remember when Sky Sports asked who this helicopter was? Well it has transpired that the helicopter was not David Luiz. They made that abundantly clear.

4.43

Porto's Bruno Martins Indi has officially signed on loan for Stoke. Fair play to Mark Hughes, he's getting the business done.

4.33

Now for actual news, Alvaro Arbeloa looks set to join West Ham today. The 33-year-old is currently a free agent and West Ham are reportedly going to sign him on a one-year deal.

4.28

The pressing questions continue with "Top UK cities searching for the transfer window" You'd think they were trying to fill air time. Anyway Jim White will be entering the ri.. I mean in studio at 9pm. Can't wait...

4.24

Sky Sports continue to ask the pressing questions of the day. Asking of this helicopter, "Who is this?"

4.18

Middlesbrough have signed Adama Traore from Aston Villa. The Daily Mail have called Mr. Traore a flop which is unfair and downright mean. We're heare for you Adama, don't let them get to you. Anyway he signed on a 4-year contract so obviously Middlesbrough value his as a person. Take that Daily Mail.

4.13

BBC's David Orstein has just tweeted that Wilshere is set to join Bournemouth as Arsenal rejected Roma. Presumably because he wasn't going to get a game behind the likes of Nainggolan and Strootman. Go on Jack, get that England place back!

4.06

Good news for free agent and Wales hero Hal Robson-Kanu as West Brom are interested in bringing him to The Hawthorns.

4.03

Under 7 hours left now! The excitement is almost unbearable. With every second falling off the clock the tension just ratchets up...

Well Serge Gnabry and Jeff Hendricks' deals to Bremen and Burnley respectively are done. There's Jeff there anyway, fair play to him.

3.55

In other news, Nasri always gets shafted when it comes to the pictures they use for him. Then again maybe he's like Phil Jones and every time a camera is around his face just turns into a rubber gurn machine. Poor guys.

3.50

Off to Liverpool where Luis Alberto is on the move to Lazio for a deal believed to be worth £4.6m. A deal is expected to be finalised shortly although much to the annoyance of Liverpool fans, a deal to send Alberto Moreno out to stud is nowhere near completion.

3.45

AC Milan have entered the race to sign Jack Wilshere on loan. Sky Sports are reporting that while AC are in for him, Bournemouth remain favourites and Roma still have a shot. Oh the excitement! It will be a shame when he gets injured.

3.42

Sky Sports have reported that Sunderland have completed a £13.6m deal for Didier Ndong. Yann M'Vila and Steven Naismith to follow?

3.40

Newcastle have announced the departure of Mehdi Abeid on Twitter. He's off to French side Dijon FCO on a three-year contract.

3.37

In yet another move that is wholly unsurprising, it seems that Juan Cuadrado has finally moved to Juventus. He was set to do absolutely nothing for Chelsea this season so fair play to him, off to Serie A with the rest of the the league.

3.30

Sky Sports are reporting that Jack Wilshere is interested in a move to Roma. That game against Torino and Joe Hart could draw a few English eyes to it.

3.26

The Mirror are reporting that Sunderland are going to make a late move for Leicester's Leonardo Ulloa. The 30 year old has fallen down the pecking order last season and the recent addition of Ahmed Musa will give him further incentive to jump ship. Oddly, David Moyes is trying to buy a player he hasn't managed before...

3.19

Smug Alan Pardew has smugly confirmed that he is interested in Jack Wilshere, smugly commenting that:

A lot of clubs are interested in Jack and we are one of them. But there are other targets we are pursuing as well.

Roma and Bournemouth are still very much in the race to sign him up. Let's see where this goes.

3.05

The Mail are reporting that PSG and Chelsea have agreed a fee for the transfer of David Luiz, who is expected to undergo a medical in London this evening. They do not provide an update as to whether this move will cause the sport of football to fold over upon itself, crushing all of us in the process. But just imagine Graham Souness' face at this time.

2.50

West Brom have reportedly made an improved offer for Moussa Sissoko in an attempt to steal him out from underneath Spurs' nose. Spurs had presumably been testing the patience of Newcastle with offers of £30m in 300 installments of 100,000.

Well now, this has put the cat among the pigeons and the pigeons among the bread.

2.43

Sky Sports continue to compare players 'stats' as if we live in a bloody simulation. Maybe they're right, we can't account for any human error or bursts of form.

"Yes but Ndong has 11 in heading, a point more than M'Vila and that 15 pace could really come in handy." F*ck off.

2.40

Marca have reported that Isco will not be leaving, running the headline that Isco presumably shrieked "I stay, I stay!" Unlucky Spurs fans.

2.36

Incidentally, the yellow crawler across the bottom of Sky Sport's transfer coverage continues to thicken which presumably indicates that more deals are on the way or it's grows as the clock ticks down. More on the growing banner as the day continues. Expect to see the lads peering out from over it should a genuinely unexpected deal occur. Anything to shield from that faux enthusiasm let's be real...

2.31

Awkward moment for Dr. Tony Xia. Remember that tweet where he all but confirms the deal to bring Albert Adomah to Aston Villa? Well Middlesbrough have come out and categorically denied that the deal is over the line. God loves a trier!

2.27

The City clean-out is going about as well as Pep could have hoped. Hart, Nasri and Bony are gone and Eliaquim Mangala is close to completing his loan move to Valencia.

Bony even channeled his inner 'Arry after his debut behind closed doors. Good day all round for the lad. Although he is at Stoke now instead of City. It's been an okay day.

2.22

New details have emerged about Sunderland target Yann M'Villa. According to Sky Sports a pre-contract has been agreed between Sunderland and Rubin Kazan which would see Yann M'Vila arrive in January. The problem is that Sunderland want him now but Kazan want £7m to make it happen.

2.20

Samir Nasri is finally on his way out of Manchester City as Sevilla have confirmed his loan move. Fair play to the lad, he managed to hide among footballers and keep getting a wage for years!

2.13

The Guardian are reporting that Leicester are close to completing a deal for Islam Slimani in what would be a club record deal worth between £27-34m.

2.09

Here's an interesting one. This is Torino's next 6 fixtures. Their fourth game is a home tie against Roma. Where young Jackie Wilshere could be playing by the end of this day. Some craic if they played each other!

2.06

Sky Sports are reporting that Manchester City's Eliaquim Mangala is currently doing a medical at Valencia ahead of a season long loan move.

Also, here's Serge Gnabry after his medical at Werder Bremen.

2.00

James McCarthy is currently being linked to both Celtic and Crystal Palace. Let's be honest, Pardew and Palace are taking the piss at the minute with the amount of players they're being linked with. The Mirror are reporting that Brendan Rodgers could snap up McCarthy on loan after Everton put Palace off a permanent deal by asking for too much money. Greedy, greedy Everton.

1.54

The Mirror are reporting that West Brom and Tony Pulis are eyeing up Braga defender Willy Boly. Despite having a fairly questionable name, Pulis is keen to add him to he signings of Matt Phillips and Nacer Chadli.

Also, Wilfried Bony has been officially announced at Pulis' former club Stoke City. He's currently playing in a 'behind closed doors' game right now. Yes right now. They weren't hanging about!

1.51

Great "Banter" from the Transport for London Twitter page here. Slap a yellow tie on them, teach them to get excited about clocks and you've got a cracking Sky Sports banter bot presenter.

1.47

Enner Valencia could be on his way out of West Ham after they spend £60m on 12 players this summer. Sky Sports are reporting that a loan move to Swansea could be on the cards.

Matteo Darmian could be on his way to Inter Milan as playing opportunities are sure to be at a premium for the Italian under Mourinho this season.

1.43

Albert Adomah has joined Aston Villa from Middlesbrough. The deal is apparently not official but look at that tweet by eccentric chairman Dr. Tony Xia and tell me that isn't official.

https://twitter.com/Dr_TonyXia/status/770954951891705856

1.40

So, here's an update from the window so far.

  1. Nothing major has happened.
  2. Sky Sports presenters continue to be incredibly excited about it

1.35

Cesc Fabregas continues to be linked to AC Milan but Sky Sports are suggesting that deal won't be happening. Sad face. The Spaniard has only played 10 minutes of ball for Chelsea in the league this year. In which time he got an assist, just sayin'.

1.32

Rubin Kazan player Yann M'Vila has posted this picture to his Instagram story.

https://twitter.com/RichMennearJP/status/770954128348545024

The picture says 'Hello London' but we all know how fond players are of cryptic bullshit messages. As this tweet suggests, he could be on a connecting flight north to Sunderland where he spent last season on loan.

1.29

The Telegraph are reporting that Jay Rodriguez is a loan target for West Brom, Hull and Sunderand. They all need striker and Jay Rodriguez needs game time. Seems okay to me. Remember when he was forcing his way into England's first team? Good lord.

https://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph/status/770914013911871488

1.22

Sky Sports are reporting that Tottenham are offering £16m for Moussa Sissoko. But that's miles away from Newcastle's £30m valuation of the Frenchman. Looks like this deal could be off as their valuations are miles apart. Have Spurs not noticed the current transfer market? If you want to buy a player you need to spend silly money! Everyone knows that.

1.16

Sticking with Sky, here's a shot they are broadcasting which makes it seem as though they're watching Claudio Ranieri in some kind of sting operation. How odd. Anyway, the Italian is leaving the Leicester City ground, indicating his days in done. Despite that, The Foxes are chasing a deal for Islam Slimani and reports suggest a deal is close to being done.

1.11

Slow couple of minutes. Throwback to the time a Sky Sports reporter was assaulted by a sex toy. Does that count as sexual assault? Hmm food for thought anyway.

1.06

In a short interview on Torino's website, Joe Hart did exceptionally well to hide the fact that he thought h was signing for Juventus.

1.03

Stoke have confirmed the signing of Wilfried Bony on a season long loan. Welcome to my Fantasy Football Team Wilf. Sky Sports are reporting that he will make his debut today in a game behind closed doors.

https://twitter.com/ManCity/status/770954495912206336

1.00

In other news, Cesc Fabregas is being linked to AC Milan. Imagine it, Cesc absolutely pinging passes about in a league that affords midfielders all the time in the world.

Also, Arsenal are reportedly unlikely to sign any more players after announcing Mustafi and Perez yesterday. Mustafi is just delighted the whole affair is finally over!

https://twitter.com/MustafiOfficial/status/770909647104606208

12.53

Time for some light-hearted and jovial transfer news. In a move that Stevie Wonder could have seen coming, David Moyes is making moves for Norwich's Steven Naismith. You know, the player he played with at Everton. After he sighed Donald Love, Paddy McNair, Adnan Janzuaj and Steven Pienaar from ex-clubs already , I think it's time to stage an intervention for the Scot. Maybe he's just scared to make new friends?

Oh yeah, he wants Leon Osman too...

https://twitter.com/WiseMenSayPod/status/770906641000755200

12.48

Watford have made 11 signings so far this window, busy boys. But they need to balance the books somewhat. Allan Nyom and Jerome Sinclair have been selected as the first casualties. Nyom is heading to West Brom for £3m while Sinclair is also heading out on loan to Norwich City

12.43

Samir Nasri's move to Sevilla is all but done as the two parties go over the finer points of the contract. Particularly Clause #2 and #13 which refer to Nasri's extorionate wages and offensive haircut. Discussions could go on for a while.

https://twitter.com/DevilRays9/status/769938538431287296

12.37

The Mirror are reporting that Manchester United and Everton are 'battling' and going head to head' to sign Sheffield United's Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The 19 year old plays as a left back and if the Mirror are to be believed, his potential suitors are going to physically fight to sign him. It's like an episode of Saved by the Bell and Calvert-Lewin is the new boy in school. So exciting...

12.30

According to Sky Sports, Jack Wilshere is being convinced by Benick Afobe to join Bournemouth. Afobe is an ex-Arsenal player and currently plays for Bournemouth. That's cheating! Sky Sports are currently comparing route's from London to Bournemouth and trying to understand how Jack Wilshere may be considering future transfer plans.

In other Arsenal news, Serge Gnabry is on the verge of completing his move to Werder Bremen. With Bayern Munich nowhere to be seen.

12.22

Joe Hart's loan move to Torino has been confirmed and the England no.1 has released a statement saying that he accepted the Torino offer as it came in at the right time and in the right manner. I know it's silly but how surreal is it seeing an English player travelling abroad to sign for a team in a league that isn't in England.

12.13

While Sissoko is potentially on his way to White Hart Lane, it seems that Isco is not. Spurs fans were beginning to get giddy with excitement but Sky Sports have pierced that balloon of joy with their evil talons. Classic Sky Sports really.

In related news, the Sky Sports presenters are becoming positively maniacal with excitement as they marvel at the nature of clocks and how they "Just keep on ticking!" What a time to be alive!

12.09

Eliaquim Mangala has turned up at Valencia to complete a loan move. City fans will hardly be upset at that given the strong start that John Stones has made and also because Eliaquim Mangala isn't exactly solid at the back.

12.04

Off to Manchester City and the mass exodus from the club. Wilfried Bony is currently at Stoke City's grounds where he is completing his medical for a season long loan.

Also, in some very unsurprising news, Sky Sports and Manchester City have confirmed that Joe Hart's loan deal to Torino has been completed. Shocking development!

12.02

Roma have made a late bid to sign Jack Wilshere on loan. It seemed that Bournemouth and Crystal Palace were the only options for the 24-year-old but perhaps Roma were encouraged by Torino's ability to bring the first English goalkeeper to play in Serie A.
Maybe Wilshere can become the first English player to spend more time with the medical staff that the manager in Serie A?

Here are the biggest stories from this morning.

The big story of the morning is that David Luiz could be on his way back to Chelsea for a reported £30m. Antonio Conte has been in the market for a defender for a few days now but not even Conor McGregor could have predicted a move for Sideshow Bob lookalike David Luiz. It's ballsy we'll give them that. Ballsy doesn't always mean clever though.

It would be remiss of us to neglect the Irish angle so here we go. Jeff Hendrick has been sat outside Burnley's training ground this morning as he waits to make his move there from Derby official. The fee is believed to be around £10m and will surely sicken Hull fans who have been chasing the midfielder all summer long.

Next to Moussa Sissoko. According to L'Equipe, the Newcastle man has been given permission to leave the French national team in Clairefontaine to finalise a transfer move. It hasn't been confirmed yet but it's more than likely going to be Spurs for the poor man's Pogba.

https://twitter.com/equipedefrance/status/770893392234553345

Jack Wilshere is set to decide where he wants to spend the season on loan. Just around the corner with Alan Pardew and the lads at Crystal Palace or down south to Bournemouth. Either way, the 24 year old will be looking to revive a career which has seen him slip back to 6th choice midfielder at Arsenal. But Roma are reportedly unwilling to let the deal die.

https://twitter.com/bbcsport_david/status/770928830739537921

Everton are close to breaking their transfer fee record by splashing out on Porto's forward Yacine Brahimi. The Guardian are reporting that the deal will cost somewhere in the region of £35m. Don't worry Everton fans, he can play out wide and in the no.10 role so no ffears of Lukaku being dropped.

Manchester City are also set for a mass exodus as Samir Nasri and  Eliaquim Mangala are linked with loan moves to Sevilla and Porto respectively. It's fair to say that basically every City fan will be okay with these deals, particularly the one that finally sees Samir Nasri stop weighing down that wage bill. Joe Hart is already gone and Wilfried Bony looks set to join Stoke. It's all go in the blue half of Manchester, by all go I mean all going away from City.
