Darron Gibson has told Balls.ie that he is available to play for Ireland again now that Trap is gone.
Gibson has been unavailable to play for Ireland since Euro 2012 when he failed to see a minute of action in Poland.
Gibson says there were communication problems between the Italian and his players, particularly after Liam Brady left the setup, because Trapattoni's "English was so poor" but he acknowledged that "players knew what needed to be done when they went out there" but only because "it was the same thing every time they went on the pitch."
He hopes Ireland adopt a different style of play under a new manager but when asked whether it was frustrating to play the long ball game under the Italian he curtly joked "I wouldn't know. I never played."

He says he doesn't have any strong feelings as to who the manager should be but two names stand out for him, Martin O'Neill and Mick McCarthy. Gibson is optimistic about Ireland's chances of reaching Euro 2016
