2018 has been marred by the shocking death of Liam Miller, who passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of just 36. The multitude of warm tributes that poured forth from his erstwhile clubs and teammates accentuated how appreciated Miller was throughout his career, and now a host of his former colleagues are coming together to pay tribute to his memory and to raise funds for his family and Marymount Hospice.
It has been announced this afternoon that an XI of Man United legends will face a Republic of Ireland and Celtic selection at Turner's Cross on Tuesday, September 25th.

More players will be announced closer to the date, but those confirmed for the latter side include Robbie Keane, Damien Duff, Stephen Carr, Kevin Doyle, Keith Andrews, Kenny Cunningham, Kevin Kilbane, Stephen McPhail, Colin Healy Richard Dunne and Andy Reid.
The game has been arranged by a number of influential people from sport and business, including Keane, O’Neill, John O’Shea, Graham Barrett, Ciaran Medlar, Ger Gilroy, Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell, Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward, Denis O’Brien and Dermot Desmond amongst many others.
Alex Ferguson was a key figure in arranging the game until his health deteriorated, too. He continues to recuperate following a brain hemorrhage.
