Liam Miller has decided to join up with his former international teammate Damien Duff at Melbourne City. Miller only yesterday lifted the lid on his somewhat acrimonious departure from A-League champions Brisbane Roar but it seems that life in Australia must be treating him quite well as he's chosen to stick around in the A-League to join the newly formed club who are closely affiliated with Man City.
A statement on the club's website confirmed that the former Celtic and Man Utd midfielder had signed a short term deal.
Melbourne City FC can announce that Liam Miller will join the Club on a short-term contract and will be available for selection for this Sunday’s Hyundai A-League match against the Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park.
Miller, 33, will be eligible for selection under Football Federation Australia’s National Team Replacement Player rule.
Miller trained with Melbourne City FC this morning and will be in John van't Schip's calculations for this week's match against the Mariners.
The Melbourne club have started the season at a somewhat languid pace with five points from five games.
There had been suggestions that Miller would link up with another former international teammate, Colin Healy, at Cork City. However, it now seems that any hope of the Cork man returning home will have to wait until the end of the A-League season at the very least.
