Liam Brady's appearance was a welcome surprise on the Late Late Show on Friday night, with the Irish football legend appearing to promote his new book, 'Born to Play Football.'
In one of the more eclectic Late Late couches we can remember, Brady was sat beside legendary Hollywood action star Jean Claude van Damme - looking exceedingly sweaty under the lights in RTÉ Studio Four.
Brady recounted some brilliant stories from down through the years, including that of his expulsion from St Aidan's CBS for playing soccer during the infamous GAA ban on foreign sports.
Inevitably, Jack Charlton would come up, and the turbulent end to Brady's international career.
Though the excellent recent RTÉ documentary on Brady's time in Italy revealed that the player and Charlton had buried the hatchet after clashing towards the conclusion of Brady's time in green, there was undoubtedly conflict between the pair.
On Friday's Late Late, Brady recounted a story from his autobiography, which reveals that Charlton once forgot the Irishman's name while picking the team for an international fixture.

Liam Brady shares hilarious Jack Charlton story on Late Late Show
Liam Brady would recount sitting in the Irish dressing room, awaiting the announcement of the starting 11 for an international fixture.
As Jack Charlton called out the team, Brady was stunned when the English manager forgot his name, and he suggested that the story epitomised how he and Charlton viewed each other:
He told me right from the start - 'hey, you, you don't come back looking for the ball from Moran or McCarthy.'
Then he said to Moran and McCarthy - 'do not give the ball to him, because you'll be fuckin dropped!' So you had to adapt to that.
He picked the team and went, 'Moran, you're number 4, McCarthy you're number 5.' He looked at me and said, 'Ian, you're number 6...Ray Houghton number 7.'
I said, 'hang on a minute Jack, Ian Brady was the Moors murderer!'
He said, 'ah, you know what I mean.'
Ian Brady was the culprit of a horrific sequence of murders in the Manchester area in the 1960s, while Liam Brady was an Irish international footballer.
It's understandable that incidents such as these would get at one of Ireland's finest ever footballers.
