French publication L'Equipe reported on Thursday that UEFA intends to announce at a meeting on Tuesday that this summer's European Championships will be postponed until 2021.
UEFA announced earlier today that it will hold a video conference meeting with its 55 member associations on Tuesday to discuss European football's response to the Covid-19 virus outbreak. These discussions will include "all domestic and European competitions, including UEFA EURO 2020".
"According to our information, UEFA should announce during this meeting the provisional suspension of the Champions League and the Europa League and the postponement of the Euros to 2021," reads the L'Equipe report.
It is also said that negotiations with FIFA would be required as the Club World Cup is scheduled to be played in the summer of 2021.
However, according to The Daily Telegraph's Ben Rumsby, the postponement of the tournament until next year is just one scenario which will be on the table during the meeting.
Am told the scenario being presented by L'Equipe is merely one of a multitude of different options up for discussion. By no means a done deal.
