In what is sure to be an appointment that draws a few wry comments from Leinster fans, Matt O'Connor has been appointed attack coach for the Queensland Reds in his native Australia.
O'Connor had been linked with the head coach position at the Reds but they have instead decided to continue with Richard Graham in that position with Nick Stiles as his assistant coach.
The former Leinster coach will join that coaching ticket on a three year deal.

O'Connor departed Leinster after just two years of his three year deal earlier this summer with his departure understandably linked with the Leinster faithful's lack of belief in the style of rugby which was being seen at the RDS.
Leinster's reliance on a more pragmatic style of rugby was one of the primary complaints thrown at the feat of O'Connor last season and, as a result, Leinster fans may allow themselves a wry smile when seeing his new job title with the Reds.
