In decades to come, we will look back at the proliferation of the smartphone as one of the most profound sociological movements of the twenty-first centuries. The tyranny of the camera phone, and the myriad channels available to distribute its blurred results, means that acts of great eejitry in public have been curbed, and are now mostly reserved for private events, or for those in public office.
Footballers are more subject to this scrutiny than most, and Celtic's Leigh Griffiths learned this last night. Griffiths scored in Celtic's come-from-behind win against Saint Mirren in the Scottish Cup quarter-final yesterday, and to celebrate he, er, went to TGI Fridays.
While tucking in, Griffiths was pictured by a Celtic fan. Unperturbed, to his credit, Griffith's reply was great:
