Leicester City have recalled Tom Cannon from his loan spell with Stoke City, though it appears as though the Irishman will soon be on the move again.
The news was confirmed on Stoke's website, with a statement from the Potters reading:
Tom Cannon has been recalled from his loan spell at Stoke City by parent club Leicester City.
The Republic of Ireland international scored 11 times for the Potters in 25 appearances in all competitions after arriving on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Tom has our thanks for his commitment to the Stoke City cause during his loan spell with the Club. We wish him well for the future.
It is a blow for Stoke, for whom Cannon had become an integral player in their battle for Championship survival.
Though Ruud van Nistelrooy and Leicester have recalled Cannon, it appears as though he will be on the move again before too long. Multiple reports on Wednesday state that two sides vying for promotion to the Premier League are set to battle it out for Cannon's permanent signature.

Tom Cannon linked with permanent Championship move
It appears as though Leicester are recalling Tom Cannon with the sole aim of securing a permanent move for the Irish youngster.
Reports on Wednesday have linked Cannon with a move to either Sheffield United or Sunderland, both of whom are right in the mix for promotion to the Premier League.
The Irish Sun report that Sheffield is the most likely destination for the 22-year-old, with the Blades said to have already tabled a bid of £7 million for Cannon's services.
However, multiple reports in the UK suggest that Sunderland are hot on the heels of their promotion rivals in the battle to sign Tom Cannon.
Sunderland transfer expert Alan Nixon stated that the Black Cats are willing to approach a loan-to-buy situation, with an obligation to buy for up to £13 million, should they secure promotion to the Premier League.
Either Sheffield United or Sunderland would be a more attractive location for Cannon than 19th-placed Stoke, and it appears that a move to another of the Championship's red-and-white outfits could be imminent.
Cannon has earned two caps for Ireland, making his debut against Portugal under John O'Shea last June before earning his second cap under Heimir Hallgrímsson against Finland in November.
