In February 2022, Leeds United sacked their beloved manager Marcelo Bielsa. Jesse Marsch and now Javi Gracia have since come and gone, and Big Sam Allardyce now brought in, in an attempt to avoid relegation with just four games left to play in the Premier League.
Leeds currently lie in 17th place, ahead of Nottingham Forest on goal difference and a point ahead of Everton. They are also level with 16th placed Leicester City, but four points behind West Ham.
Bielsa's free flowing style of play was deemed to be too leaky by the Leeds board, despite his immense popularity among the fans.
The conservative style of relegation beater Sam Allardyce is in total contrast to the Argentinian's, but given the poor running of the club over the last year, many fans are not surprised at the absurdity of the situation that they find themselves in.
Leeds Go From Bielsa Sam Allardyce In The Space Of 13 Months
Big Sam back in the Premier League for the final four games of the season at Leeds is the perfect encapsulation of this absolutely bat-shit mental campaign. It’s had a World Cup in the middle of it and feels like it’s gone on for about 14 years.

Always talked about a great succession plan but there is no logic whatsoever between transitions of managers🤷♂️ #LUFC pic.twitter.com/vu7TbHryEc

If someone showed me this headline after we finished 9th first season back under Bielsa I’d have said ‘actually yeah that sounds exactly like Leeds tbh’ https://t.co/UPaJYh71wU

"As the first team squad at Leeds United, we wanted to reach out to the fan base regarding yesterday’s game and subsequent posts on social media", said the club.
"Firstly, the performance was not good enough. There is no other way to look at it and the only way to respond is on the pitch. Leeds fans travel up and down the country in huge numbers and deserve more than this.
"We do not believe that this fight is over and we will keep going until the last ball is kicked this season. Thank you again for your support."
