Leeds United could be set to lose Pontus Jansson after the centre-back did not report back for pre-season training this week.
Marcelo Bielsa's squad have returned to their Thorp Arch base ahead of a Championship promotion push but Jansson was not with the squad, reportedly offered an extended holiday given he was on international duty this summer. He is due to return on July 12.
However, reporter and Leeds United fan favourite Phil Hay has confirmed the relationship between the player and the club has 'broken down' and it is likely the star centre-back will now leave.
as best I can tell, the relationship between Jansson and the club has broken down. There are things Leeds aren’t happy about in terms of attitude etc and I’d expect a parting of ways very soon.

Jansson was one of the Whites’ stand-out performers last season. The controversy has ignited much debate on social media, with some fans comparing Jansson's influence to cult hero Lucas Radebe. This is a view former Leeds United player Noel Whelan take umbrage with: "Do not ever class Pontus in the same class as Lucas ..... he’s nowhere near the defender or the man."
If the player was to return on July 12, he would still miss the club's pre-season tour as they prepare for Australia.
