A tweet from Wesley Sneijder's twitter account this morning has alerted the world to possibly the most monumentally stupid and offensive line of merchandise a football club has ever concocted. Sneijder (or "his team") deleted the tweet soon after but not before we nabbed a print of it.
Yes, that's right. You can now buy an official Galatasaray knife set complete in all sizes and resplendent in the official club colours. We'll let the Yorkshire Evening Post's chief football writer Phil Hay explain the rest:
On this of all weekends, Wesley Sneijder is launching a branded set of Galatasaray knives. What a proud moment for him.

The timing's less offensive than the fact that Galatasaray would actually have anything to do with branded knife sets.

Leeds will hold a minute's silence in memory of Kevin Speight and Christopher Loftus before today's game, 15 years on.

Just astonishing. It'll be interesting to see if they persist in selling this product. At the time of publication senvi.com was still advertising them.
UPDATE; Sneijder has apologised for the tweet:
@Leedsu1Ross Very sorry. I didn't know this and deleted our promotion for the merchandise kitchen item. #Respect
