It's been a while since we've had an Irishman as an integral part of the Manchester United first-team, but there are a batch of Irish youngsters at the club at the moment intent on changing that.
Kieran O'Hara is flitting about the first team as a goalkeeper, while the captain of the United Under-19s is from Waterford. Lee O'Connor joined the club in July of last year having been named the FAI's Under-15 Player of the Year prior to his joining United.
O'Connor and United are currently competing at the Otten Cup, a competition organised by PSV and staged in Holland. In their first game, United defeated Cruzeiro EC 2-0, with O'Connor scoring the second goal in the final minute with a stunning mazy run. O'Connor intercepted the ball in his own half, and then set off, beating six players before volleying home the finish.
