It seems that the marketing department at Adidas have copped that there is a sizeable portion of football fans who believe that football boot design peaked with the Adidas Predator between 1998 and 2006.
After re-releasing the 2002 Predator Mania in the hugely popular 'champagne' colourway, and seeing the ridiculous response where all of the limited edition boots were sold out within minutes, Adidas are set to once again delight nostalgic football fans with another beautiful re-release.
We reported on the news that this may be happening back in May, but now it has been confirmed after FootyHeadlines.com got their hands on leaked images of the new 2017 Adidas Predator Precision, which confirmed what we had been hoping all along...
It's the blue version of the boot that will be re-released!
Beautiful.
The blue colourway was a big hit back in the day and were worn by many stars including Patrick Kluivert, as we can see from this picture of the Dutchman playing against Ireland in 2001.
Like the other re-releases of the Predators, the Adidas Predator Precision will attempt to blend modern features such as the stud pattern and sole plate with the older design, although the pictures above show us that they are keeping things very true to how the original boot looked.
While there is no release date slated just yet, the boots are expected to be released in 2017.
While we can't wait to see how these look in the flesh, we've got to accept that it's going to be next to impossible to secure a pair. Hopefully Adidas decide to release all of the new/old Predators in a line that we can see in retail stores, but for the minute we'll just appreciate the fact that we're going to see pros playing in some outstanding throwback footwear.
