The English Football League season kicked off last night, with Ireland midfielder Josh Cullen stealing the show in Burnley's victory over Huddersfield Town.
That may have been the first game of what is set to be a long campaign, but the season really kicked into gear this afternoon as the majority of teams across the three divisions took to the pitch for their first fixtures.
Of course, it is difficult to learn much about any side from only one game, although there were some notable incidents.
One of them came in the fixture between Bradford City and Doncaster Rovers, with the League Two clash finishing 0-0. It wasn't exactly packed with action, although it did feature one of the stranger red cards you are likely to see this season.
League Two player picks up bizarre red card
With the two sides still level in first half injury time, Bradford would get a free-kick inside the opposition half in what wasn't exactly a threatening position.
Doncaster Rovers player Lee Tomlin attempted to stop them taking it quickly, rolling the ball away after it was placed down. He would immediately receive a yellow card.
He would then go on to kick the ball away again, and while the referee would not brandish a second booking then, he would do so after he attempted to waste time by diving on the ground after being touched by an opposition player.
Remember, all of this is in the first half of the game. You can watch the bizarre sequence below.

It was all a bit strange and becomes even more so when you realise that Tomlin was making his debut for the club.
Luckily for Doncaster, they would manage to earn a draw on the day despite playing all of the second half with only ten men.
We'd imagine his manager will be having a word with him after this one.
