Another SSE Airtricity League of Ireland season is upon us and that means there are a rake of new jerseys for us to feast our eyes on.

Not for the first time, Bohemians have caught the eye with music-themed number, after they revealed their new away jersey emblazoned with the Thin Lizzy logo, with 10% of profits to be used towards musical projects for children across Dublin.

It's certainly a stylish shirt but for the purposes of this list, we'll rank the best home jerseys that have been released by the ten Premier Division sides ahead of the new campaign.

2024 League of Ireland kit rankings

10. Dundalk

Playr-Fit have brought the pinstripes back for the Lilywhites, with red and black trim now donning the shoulders.

It's an improvement overall on last season but it's still lacking something.

9. Sligo Rovers

It looks like the Bit O'Red have opted against a change to their home shirts this year, barring any late announcements.

Going against our own rules, we'll give a shoutout to their stylish red and navy-hooped away kit.

8. Shamrock Rovers

The club have gone for wider hoops this year as they chase a record fifth league title in-a-row. The white v-neck collar, topped off with gold, replaces last year's green round-neck, with an interesting zig-zag pattern in the background.

It feels a low-key effort overall.

7. St. Patrick's Athletic

The yellow is back for 2024, featured on the Umbro logo, collar, the shoulders and sleeves. They've done away with the Umbro logo running down the sides, in favour of a simpler white stripe.

It's classic Pat's and fans will probably be satisfied.

6. Waterford

Waterford have marked their promotion with sharp-looking home kit. New Balance have taken over from Umbro and have ditched the hints of yellow from last season.

The round collar remains but last year's pinstripes are gone, in favour what appear to be blue parallelograms.

5. Drogheda United

The sash is gone, with Errea opting for claret and blue stripes for the season ahead.

The buttoned collar is a bold move but a fairly handy one for supporters who couldn't be bothered changing before hitting the town after a game.

4. Derry City

The Candystripes have stuck with O'Neills and white features more heavily this season against the red that was more prominent in 2023.

They've added white and red to last year's black collar and it does look more classically Derry.

3. Galway United

Galway certainly put a lot of thought into their jersey designs. According to the club website, this year's effort is inspired by "'The Roar of the Sea, taking inspiration from the Gaelic phrase ‘Tuaimneacha’ which describes the thunderous beat of the sea crashing against the western coast."

There's a bold graphic illustration of a tiger crashing through waves, while Galway's traditional lion motif features on the back of the neck.

John Caulfield's men will be roaring into the Premier Division in style.

2. Shelbourne

Shels have switched from Umbro to O'Neill's for the 2024 campaign the change has resulted in a very nifty number.

They've ditched their blue trim for a white v-neck collar and the pinstripes are a welcome addition. Damien Duff's men be showing off a bit of Drumcondra style on their travels across the continent this summer.

1. Bohemians

Bohs have pulled it out of the bag once again. The ribbed collar and cuffs add a bit of style, while the white stripes on last year's shoulders have disappeared.

The Celtic knot design is an interesting addition, and Gaeilgeoirs at Dalymount will be satisfied to read the club's name in Irish - 'An cumann peile Bóihéamach' on the back.
