An early stage of the summer soccer season has succumbed to the week's absurd chill: the FAI have this afternoon confirmed that all this weekend's games in the League of Ireland Premier and First Division have been postponed owing to the weather.
In an statement, the FAI confirmed that "following a detailed monitoring process, where the FAI worked closely with all clubs, it was decided to postpone all games in the Premier and First Divisions due to current severe weather conditions and future forecasts from Met Eireann".
Most of the games have been immediately rescheduled. The details are below.

In some other news from the FAI today, the Association confirmed that Ian Mallon has resigned his position as Director of Communications with the Association to take up a role with UEFA as National Associations Communications Consultant.
