ITV have announced a deal with La Liga which will see the station broadcast one La Liga game per week for the rest of the season.
The games will be shown free to air on ITV4, beginning this weekend. The first match to be shown under the new deal will be Levante v Real Madrid, and will kick off at 7.45pm on Sunday 24 February.
In conjunction to securing the rights to broadcast one match for free per week, they have announced that they will also compile a mid-week highlights programme to showcase the best from the previous weekend's round of La Liga matches.
We are delighted to announce a new deal that will see us broadcast LIVE free to air coverage of @LaLiga for the remainder of the season starting this Sunday with @LevanteUD vs @realmadrid

The Director of Sport for ITV, Niall Sloane, said: "This is good news for football fans who will be able to see on free to air television some of the world's best players in action for some of the world's biggest clubs in a league known for its high levels of skill and entertainment from now until the end of the season."
However, match rights for La Liga have also been allocated to pay-TV platform Premier Sports, which holds first pick on which match to select from each game week. As such next week's El Clasico won't feature on ITV4, and it should be assumed that the same will apply to any other similarly high-profile La Liga matches.
