Kylian Mbappe is an incredible footballer. There is an argument to be made that he is the best player in the world at the moment, a scary prospect when you consider that he is still only 23-years old.
In saying that, there are some genuine concerns about his attitude. All top players have an ego, but his is becoming increasingly problematic.
The way in which Mbappe treated both PSG and Real Madrid during the summer was perhaps telling, with the French club ultimately being forced to agree to some unprecedented demands in order to keep him at the Parc des Princes. Not only did they make him the highest paid player in the world and hand over a rumoured €100million signing bonus, but they will also allow him to have a big input on decisions relating to the manager and playing squad moving forward.
It was quite the boost for the player's ego, although that may now be affecting him on the pitch.
Kylian Mbappe shows petty side in PSG win
PSG played their second game of the Ligue 1 season last night, recording a 5-2 victory over Montpellier. While Kylian Mbappe would get on the scoresheet in that one, it was one less than complimentary passage of play that has captured the headlines.
With his team launching a counterattack early in the second half, the Frenchman made a run into space down the left wing. However, after not receiving the pass, he would throw his arms up in the air out of frustration. He would then remove himself from the play completely, just walking towards the side of the pitch.

He also had a falling out with Neymar earlier in the game when the Brazilian insisted on taking a penalty awarded to the team, which he would go on to score.
This was a remarkable response from Mbappe, showing very little regard for his teammates. Giving up in the middle of a game is something that will not be viewed lightly by those in the dressing room.
In saying that, the club are unlikely to do much about it considering the way they have pandered to their star player in the recent past.
While there is no doubting his talent, this incident perhaps points to some issues that will be coming down the line with Kylian Mbappe.
A 23-year old with remarkable physical gifts, he seems perfectly suited to the high workload that is demanded in the modern game. Despite this, he rarely presses from the from and essentially never tracks back to help out his team.
It is something that wouldn't be accepted at other clubs, but PSG are now lying in a bed of their own making.
