Over the years, Kris Boyd hasn't been the biggest fan of Celtic and as a Rangers legend, he's not really able to be. Today, this changed as he lauded the performance of Liel Abada after Celtic's 4-0 win over Rangers in the Old Firm Derby.

The Israeli winger tormented the Rangers defence and scored a brace in the first half, helping Celtic to maintain their 100% start to the season.

Kris Boyd praises Liel Abada

While on punditry duty for Sky Sports, former Rangers' striker Kris Boyd praised the Celtic wide man.

The Scot said that the 20-year old possesses everything you want to see in a winger.

I'll never get fed up saying it, every time you watch Liel Abada, he's been coached from a young age, he's taken everything on board.

If there are any youngsters out there who want to play in that position, like we see in the 4-3-3. He knows exactly where to be, he knows where to fill the space, knows where to affect the games. He's willing to run without the ball, he's willing to do the hard work you know to get back and shut the opposition down as well.

But he always picks himself up in a position in that forward area. We see wingers hugging the touchline. He wants to get in and play, wants to get involved. It's not a coincidence the goals he gets.

Abada has already scored six goals this season and at the age of just 20, Ange Postecoglou seems to have a real gem on his hands since signing him from Maccabi Petah Tivka last summer.

Michael Stewart blasts Ryan Kent over Old Firm performance

BBC pundit Michael Stewart didn't hold back his views on Rangers' winger Ryan Kent at half time after his poor performance.

The former Liverpool man felt that he was fouled in the build up to Abada's first goal, but the referee waved play off and Abada opened the scoring.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Stewart said:

Maybe Ryan Kent was fouled but looking back on it I can see why he gave the Celtic throw for the goal

On the first viewing I thought there was a potential for a foul.

But, he is complaining to try and get a foul but meanwhile Celtic are in the box and swinging the ball into the back post - and it is that left side of Rangers' defence again

The former Scottish midfielder also compared Ryan Kent to the in form Liel Abada and spoke about who he would prefer to have in his team.

Talking about the difference between the teams, Ryan Kent has got a lot more technical ability than Liel Abada.

You look at Kent and think he is a wonderful player, but his end product is nothing compared to Abadas. Abada has scored two today, he is a constant threat and knows how to hurt the opposition.

When you watch Ryan Kent, he does it in flashes, but he looks like a plyer to me that doesn't know where to hurt the opposition and how he can affect the game.

It's been a wonderful start to the season for Celtic who are now sitting five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and they face Real Madrid in their Champions League group stage opener on Tuesday.
