QPR boss Harry Redknapp has resigned, as announced by the club.

The boss since 2012, 'Arry saw the club relegated to the Championship before their return last season. Before taking the job he had been widely linked with the then vacant England managers position.

The reason for his departure has been given as upcoming knee surgery.

Sadly I need immediate surgery on my knee which is going to stop me from doing my job in the coming weeks. It means I won’t be able to be out on the training pitch every day, and if I can’t give 100 per-cent I feel it’s better for someone else to take over the reins.

Easily the strangest reason we've seen for a departure this season. Of course it had nothing to do with Mauro Zarate being the club's only major signing of the January transfer window.

Redknapp leaves the club second from bottom of the Premier League.
