Jurgen Klopp has offered an update on the injury suffered by Alisson Becker in the 4-1 win over Norwich, and it is mixed news for Liverpool supporters.
The Brazilian went down clutching his leg after seemingly slipping on the wet Anfield surface while attempting to kick the ball. He hobbled off soon after, being replaced by debutant Adrian.
Many have feared that a long-term injury could scuttle Liverpool's season already, with the player being such a key part of Jurgen Klopp's side.
Speaking after the game, the German offered an update.
Klopp confirms Alisson suffered calf injury. Good news, in sense he hasn't snapped ankle or knee ligaments, but he's out of Super Cup final on Wed: "It's a calf injury. He felt as if something hit him from the back he won't be ready for Wednesday, I can say that already" #LFC

Klopp would then go on to elaborate further, and it certainly sounds as though Alisson will miss a few games in the coming weeks.
It's a calf injury. He felt as if something hit him from the back. He won't be ready for Wednesday, I can say that already.
It is not good but we will find a solution and move on...
Adrian is a good goalie. In possession he is calm and he is good at shot-stopping, that's why we signed him. It's good for him but we have a little problem with Ali.
Liverpool face Chelsea in the European Super Cup on Wednesday evening, and they will be without their number one in Istanbul.
