Cork City made short work of Longford Town tonight as the FAI Cup holders made their way into the semi-final of the 2018 edition. Of their five goalscorers, Kieran Sadlier scored what will perhaps go down as the goal of the night.
2-0 ahead at half-time, Cork City had the added advantage of seeing Longford Town reduced to 10-men; Darren Meenan perhaps a little unlucky to be sent-off.
Making that advantage count in the second-half, John Caulfield's side turned the screw in 20-minutes where four goals were converted.
Hat-trick hero on the night, Kieran Sadlier grabbed his third with only a few minutes left to play. Although Longford Town may well have been lagging a little by this stage, Sadlier's hit was absolutely incredible.

Cork City will now progress to the semi-final of the FAI Cup as they remain in the hunt to replicate last year's league and cup double.
