Kieran O'Hara was the hero for Macclesfield on Tuesday night as they progressed to the third round of the League Cup after a penalty shootout win against Walsall.

The Ireland U21 keeper - who is part of Martin O'Neill's provisional squad for the upcoming games against Wales and Poland - joined the League Two club on loan from Manchester United earlier this month.

O'Hara saved four penalties during the game. That included one 18 minutes into the second half from Andy Cook. Though, the Walsall striker scored the rebound.

After the game finished 3-3, it went straight to a penalty shootout. It was there that O'Hara emerged as the game-winner for Macclesfield.

The 22-year-old saved three penalties - including another from Andy Cook - along with strikes by Luke Leahy and Kieran Morris.
