Watch: Kevin Doyle Scores Astonishing Diving Header, Receives Standing Ovation From Bench

Ireland striker Kevin Doyle has missed Colorado Rapids' last four games, and hadn't scored since July as he continues to make his way back to full fitness.

That all changed last night for the Wexford man, as he netted what can only be described as one of the best headed goals you'll see all season (and, jokes aside, maybe even ever).

The 33-year-old from Adamstown arrived like a freight train onto an inch-perfect cross from the left wing, connecting with a header so pure that it almost burst the net as it hit the top left-hand corner. Remarkable hang-time, sublime Kevin Doyle header.

It's no wonder his teammates on the bench stood to applaud the finish. And as for the celebration? Well, we'll leave him off...for now.

Let's hope the goal reaches his international manager, because there's life in the old Doyle yet.

We recently spoke to Doyle on the Balls.ie Football Show, where he told us why he's enjoying life as a 'soccer' player, why his French teammate greets him with 'Morning horse' every day at training, and how Sean St Ledger came to be in *that* picture with Taylor Swift.
