This morning Benevento sat bottom of Serie A without a single point after 14 games. Now, they remain bottom of Serie A...but with a single point!
The table may not lie, but it is guilty of withholding a few emotions, as that single point arrived in the most amazing of circumstances. Benevento hosted AC Milan today, under the new management of Gennaro Gattuso.
Milan went in front seven minutes before the break through Bonaventura, only for Benevento to equalise with just their seventh goal of the season through a George Puscas. Milan were back in front seven minutes later however, this time Bonaventura supplying the assist for Nikola Kalinic.
Milan were then reduced to ten men when Andrea Romagnoli picked up a second yellow card, but it looked like they would cling on for an unconvincing win until goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli threw himself at a last-minute free-kick...and found the corner of the net.
Their first was a Puscas goal...their second could be a Puscas Award-winning goal. Watch it below.
Magnifico!
