Karim Benzema is having quite the eventful day.
Earlier on the Real Madrid superstar admitted to blackmailing his International teammate Mathieu Valbuena as part of his ongoing sex tape scandal.
Benzema was then charged with blackmail following his confession, with some media outlets reporting that he could face up to five years imprisonment.
And just as you thought things couldn't get any crazier for Benzema, they have.
Reports coming out of Le Point in France are apparently linking the French striker with one of the biggest drug trafficking scandals in French history.
The scandal, which is nicknamed "Air Cocaine" in France is reported to be spearheaded by a man who's paid for numerous flights between France and South America. The unnamed individual is said to have been found as a result of his links to Benzema.
The man in question is recognised as a football agent and a big football fan and is thought to live between Spain and Italy. The link between the individual and Benzema is being investigated further but the pair allegedly lived very close to each other in Spain.
One man who's already been arrested as part of Air Cocaine is Ali Bouchareb, who was arrested last year. To make things worse for the Real Madrid frontman, a number of photos of the pair were found during a raid on Bouchareb's house as well as a pair of signed Benzema shoes.
Benzema's agent has been quick to refute the allegations.
I am not aware of this story and have never heard of a member of Karim Benzema’s entourage being imprisoned in Spain for drug trafficking. You know, Karim has 20 million fans on Facebook. Any madman can take selfies with him several times. It does not mean they are related.
