It has been known for some time now that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can would more than likely leave Anfiled this summer, when the German's contract expires at the club.
Well it looks like his destination is all but sewn up now, with Juventus director Guiseppe Marotta telling Sky Sports Italy correspondent Fabrizio Romano that the Italian side expect to announce the 24-year-old's signature after the Champions League final:
Emre Can to Juventus, here we go ✔️
Just confirmed also by Juventus director Marotta: “I’m confident we’ll be able to announce Emre Can signing after Champions League final” ?? #transfers #Liverpool #LFC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) May 19, 2018
The Champions League final will take place in Kiev, Ukraine next weekend and it is not yet known whether Can will be able to play a part in the contest. The midfielder has been struggling with a back problem that has seen him miss the tail end of the season.
With Can's expected departure, Liverpool will no doubt be in the hunt for another midfielder especially given the injury prone Jordan Henderson and the ageing James Milner. They Merseyside club will have RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita arriving in the summer, but Jurgen Klopp will know that he needs to add depth to his squad this summer after an injury crisis left the German with only three fit senior midfielders for their recent Champions League semi-final second leg against Roma.
