After repeatedly criticising his team, and his strikers in particular, a lot us were getting a bit fed up of Jose Mourinho and his antics. However, sometimes we get caught up in the nonsense that is the football circus, as this lovely and thoughtful gesture to the parents of a former MLS footballer who passed a way from cancer reminds us.
Shawn Kuykendall was a midfielder for DC United who made his debut for the club in a friendly against Chelsea nine years ago. On March 12 he lost his battle with cancer and on hearing the news, Mourinho sent this letter to his parents.
Frank Lampard also reached out to Shawn's family and foundation, sending a signed jersey, which reads 'To the Kuykendall Family, In Memory of Shawn. Frank Lampard.'
